Acts 2:17 The Vision for the Campus

Acts 2:17

New International Version (NIV)
17 “‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.

King James Version (KJV)
17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

New King James Version (NKJV)
17 ‘ And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.

Since the Spring of 2007, I have been at Marshall University.  I know God wants the campus to hear the gospel. I have been praying for years to find someone who wants to start the Campus Ministry of the United Pentecostal Church back on campus.

At the first of the semester, while in prayer, God spoke to me.  He did not speak audibly, he placed the words in my heart. I had a conversation with God in my prayers as He gave me my message.  This is the message I received, not in exact words, but in concept: "I will always qualify the people I want to lead my people.  I have a plan.  That plan includes you,  Why have you been ignoring me for these years.  I want a willing worker and I have chosen you."  This hearing from God was intense.  I felt closer to God then ever before.

I felt His spirit moving on me.  I told God in my prayers that, I was too busy to start a ministry,  I was not qualified,  I would not be accepted, I was not the one.  I told God I would help someone else.  I would be the best number two guys on campus.  I just could not be the leader.  I was scared.  God took my fear, cupped it in His nail scared Hands and told me that, " Your problems are now mine.  I can take them all.  I can take your fear.  I will use you just let me."

I broke down, I felt a blessing come on me that was more than I needed.  I began to bubble over.  The Holy Ghost began to pour over me and I felt confident.  I felt ready. I felt that this was in God's hand not mine.  I realized that I was in his hand so my problems became His.  My obstacles His.   But most of all I realized that my campus had become His campus.

He had always had the campus.  I had always looked at the campus as a place where God was not allowed, where the whole truth of the Holy Ghost was missing.  At that moment, I began to realize that God has it all.  He can take care of it all.  He will direct my paths.

Does this mean that the ministry just began to prosper, no. It does mean that God provided the equipment needed.  He will direct my path.

I will use this blog to spread the ministry of Campus, to let others see the vision for the Campus
